Summer Ink

Summer Ink, a writing and adventure day camp for students in grades 5 – 10, teaches children, including those from underserved communities, the fundamental behavioral habits they need to focus on the work at hand, the academic engagement required to take their education seriously, and the core writing skills to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively. The camp is based at Simmons College in Boston. Each day, campers engage in arts, sport or adventure activities in and around the city of Boston to inspire their writing. Experienced classroom teachers trained in the WEX™ Method provide frequent, targeted feedback, resulting in rapid improvement in just one two-week session. Our campers come from neighborhoods throughout Boston and Greater Boston. Summer Ink’s mission is to give all children, regardless of need, the opportunity to attend, and each year we provide scholarships to at least 50% of campers.
