Sunbelt Software

Sunbelt Software was a leading provider of antimalware solutions, including well-known products such as VIPRE, CounterSpy, iHateSpam, Sunbelt Messaging Ninja, Sunbelt CWSandbox, Sunbelt Exchange Archiver, Sunbelt ServerVision, Sunbelt Network Security Inspector, LanHound and many other leading security and IT products. Sunbelt Software was founded originally as a software reseller by Stu Sjouwerman and Jo Murciano; later, software executive Alex Eckelberry was brought in build the software business of Sunbelt. After 8 years of high growth, Sunbelt was acquired by Insight Venture Partners and merged in a 3-way merger with GFI and TeamViewer. Sunbelt was later spun-out as its own owned subsidiary majority-owned by Insight Venture Partners, and later was acquired by J2 Global and now does business as VIPRE Security.
