At Sunchem we develop sustainable solutions which can be integrated in local economic and agricultural systems. We are focussed on biogas, bioenergy and biofuel. We research applications for our nicotine free tobacco variety Solaris in the biofuel industry and are developing a new fossil-free speciality fuel for small petrol engines.
Solaris provides a sustainable source of vegetable oil for biofuel as well as protein cake for animal feed. This makes it a perfect replacement for traditional tobacco farmers facing a decline in demand for smoking tobacco. Locally cultivated Solaris products reduce CO2 emissions from fossil fuels as well as cut soy imports for animal feed. Our mission is to integrate sustainable solutions and local opportunities to develop profitable business cases that can help preserve our planet for future generations.
