Absolutely new method of pollutants degradation is described by means of special enzymes isolated from earthworms Eisenia foetida. These enzymes are able to split raw oil and it’s derivatives as well as kerosene, gasoline but also PCB, DDT, phenols, cresols, nitrites, nitrates and another chemical materials.
The principle of such decontamination is that enzymes are splitting the longer chains or cycles of pollutants to shorter ones which are already water soluble and therefore no longer dangerous for environment. The final products of such degradation are carbon dioxide and water.
