Sunshine Homecare was founded in 2004 by Francis Clement, Ph.D., and Biju Francis, RN, when they started doing business from the basement of their home in New City. Both Francis and Biju recognized that compassionate, skilled, and reliable Homecare services would make a positive difference in the lives of many folks who desired to remain in their own homes. Today Sunshine Homecare offers a robust array of health care services from skilled and licensed nurses, certified home health aides (CHHAs), and certified occupational and physical therapists for all age groups – from infants to seniors – throughout New York and New Jersey Sunshine’s 24/7 skilled nursing services offered run the gamut – from assessments and observation to post-operative care and care for highly specialized medical conditions such as ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s disease. CHHA services encompass personal care, meal preparation, help with eating, light housekeeping, shopping and, escorts to appointments or for other errands. Sunshine’s nurses and CHHAs are highly trained in respite care. Sunshine also offers clients the services of physical and occupational therapists on-site in patient homes. Over the years, the company has grown to diversify from home health care services to waiver services for the Nursing Home and Transition Diversion (NHTD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) population in New York, and operates daycare units for NHTD/TBI patients in the New York facilities in New City and Fishkill.
