Supporting Employment Transitions

SET provides FREE employment services for unemployed residents of the Nanaimo area who need access to technology and information to carry out their job Our team is committed to compassionate and professional support that empowers and encourages individuals to find practical solutions to achieve their employment goals. The Resource Room offers: Assistance with career, labour market and educational research Resume and cover letter advising 15 Computers and a laser printer Access to the Internet Photocopying and Fax services Telephone for contacting employers Career Development and Job Search Workshops Career Library We also offer service for job seekers who prefer service in French Individual Assistance For individual support we offer one-on-one employment counselling, job coaching, referrals to other community services and on-going follow up. Employment Counselling Our Employment Consultants will provide individual support in: Identifying your strengths and barriers Determining the support you need Developing a plan to help you reach your employment goals Providing one-on-one employment counselling which may include: - Resume and cover letter assistance - Career assessment - Job search advising - Career Decision assistance Providing referrals to other community services Offering on-going follow up and support Job Search Program SET Your Target, a fast-tracked two week job search program, assists job-ready individuals to quickly and successfully prepare for employment SET Job Coach The SET Job Coaching service provides transitional support to those motivated job seekers facing challenges with employment.
