Immersive Exploration and Data Acquisition: Revolutionizing Surveying Education with XR Virtual Field Trips (SURE-VFT) We’re thrilled to introduce SURE VFT, a one-year pilot project (October 2024–September 2025) funded by XR4ED under the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. This initiative pioneers the integration of XR technologies into Surveying Engineering education, transforming the way students learn and interact with photogrammetry, 3D modeling, and remote sensing. Through the XR4ED platform, SURE-VFT is designing Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) to provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences. These XR-powered VFTs simulate real-world environments, equipping students with industry-relevant skills while ensuring accessibility and effectiveness in education.
