Surgilum was incorporated in 2010 as a research and development company for medical device designs.
Founded by Alan W. Brown, M.D., a full time inventor and ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery, has designed eye surgery instruments for over twenty years. Eye surgeons around the world have used these instruments. Dr. Brown’s more recent innovations are outside of the usual hand held instruments used in eye surgery, and necessitated a separate research entity for continued development, hence the creation of Surgilūm.
