Sur+

Sur+ (“sur-plus”) is a new DC-area nonprofit that will reduce hunger and waste by connecting surplus food to unmet demand. While 37% of people experience food insecurity in the Washington, D.C. area, we have 2.5 million tons of surplus food a year, and almost all of it is sent to landfills. Wasted food is the largest culprit of methane emissions. Sur+ is on a mission to address both hunger and food waste. Bite by bite.
