Survivors of Suicide and Friends (SOS&F) is an Australian non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals and communities affected by suicide. We aim to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide compassionate support to those who have lost loved ones to suicide.
Every year, we host the Winter Solstice, a free annual event open to all. Politicians, journalists, athletes, performers, poets, and guest speakers share their personal stories of suicide and mental ill health, reminding us that many are affected, and no one is alone. On the longest night of the year, we reflect, remember, and come together as a community.
Our mission is simple: Nobody should have to face suicide alone. We support those who have lost loved ones and anyone affected by suicidality or mental ill health. Through community conversations, we aim to reduce stigma and prevent suicide in our communities.
Our vision is a world where people feel supported in discussing suicide and mental health openly, and those affected are treated with compassion and understanding.
