Sustainable CAPE's mission is to celebrate local food while inclusively educating about the health of our bodies, community and environment. By connecting children's gardens, farmers' markets and food access programs, we demonstrate the direct link between local food, sustainable health and wellness, and the importance of preserving our fragile land and water resources. Empowering individuals to become agents of change, together we create a decidedly more delicious, healthy and sustainable world. Sustainable CAPE's programs include: - Children's Community Gardens - Farmer-in-the-School Educational Programs in elementary schools - Meet-the-Farmer Educational Programs in elementary schools - The Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Program - The Harvest Highlight Series & local food donations to soup kitchens - The Truro Educational Farmers' Market - The Provincetown Educational Farmers' Market - The Sustainable CAPE Farmers' Market Coalition (including Farmers' Markets in Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Orleans, Harwich, Falmouth, Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard) - Farmers' Market Nutrition Incentive Programs including: - Bonus Match Programs for SNAP and WIC customers plus seniors - The Healthy Incentive Program (HIP) - Project Gratitude for veterans - Fresh Kids Awards - Grow-a-Row for Neighbors community food donation program
