Swami Vivekananda Krida Avem Yoga Sansthan, founded on January 12, 1984, in Muzaffarpur, is an organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing sports talents, with a particular focus on those from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Our mission is to enhance the performance of these athletes through scientific training and to integrate them into the mainstream society via sports.
The Sansthan draws its inspiration from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, who emphasized the importance of physical strength and mental resilience in youth. His belief that "what we want is muscle of iron and nerves of steel" and that "You will be nearer to heaven playing football than studying the Bhagavad-Gita" underscores the vital role of sports in the development of young individuals. Our commitment is to instill these values in the younger generation, fostering a spirit of unity and harmony through sports.
As India experiences positive transformations in the sports sector, the Sansthan is actively engaged in promoting awareness about career opportunities and educational programs in sports. We are particularly committed to empowering girls in sports, breaking down societal barriers, and supporting their pursuit of excellence at national and international levels.
Guided by the motto "Sports for Nation Building," the Sansthan is dedicated to contributing to the nation's development through sports. Our efforts have borne fruit, with many of our trained athletes achieving success on national and international platforms. We regularly train 50-60 athletes, focusing on youth athletics, and organize key events such as district athletics meets in collaboration with the Muzaffarpur District Athletics Association, cross-country races, mile relay events, and the Muzaffarpur Sports Festival.
