Our mission is to be the locally recognized authority whose voice is heard on the most pressing people management issues of the day—now and in the future. Our board is 100% volunteer, and we take a strategic approach to advance and serve our area's HR practitioners.
We hold monthly Chapter meetings and other special events, like the Leadership Breakfast and Virginia Legal Forum, to discuss pertinent subjects with established speakers and encourage contacts and networking, so members can exchange knowledge and information.
Originally founded in 1969 as the Shenandoah Valley Personnel Association and affiliated with the American Society for Personnel Administration, our name changed when the national association's name changed to the Society for Human Resource Management.
