About Switch Inclusion Support
Switch Inclusion Support is committed to helping children and young people who are at risk of isolation or exclusion from their schools, communities or homes. Our experienced and trained staff provide a range of approaches including: - Autism aware - Trauma informed - Speech and language - Bereavement support - Play and art therapies - Emotion coaching - Restorative practice - Mental Health First Aid - Behaviour management First launching in 2007 thanks to National Lottery Funding, Switch Midlands was originally called The Switch Project and provided positive, participatory arts based activities for children and young people in Wolverhampton schools and communities. Following the 3-years of funding, the outcomes being achieved meant the project became a sustainable social enterprise, regularly being commissioned by schools and local authorities to deliver wellbeing interventions for children and young people. Now with 15 years of success and experience, we are proud to say that we are one of the leading providers of support for schools, offering our service both in the school environment, and from our centre in Wolverhampton. We aim to improve children and young people’s wellbeing, engagement and attendance so that they are better able to learn, and specialise in providing early-intervention approaches for pupils who are at risk of exclusion. Through offering a range of programmes to help children and young people facing adversity in order to enhance social mobility, we can address the root causes of exclusion, strengthen the wellbeing and resilience of children and young people. We achieve this through building safe, sensitive and thoughtful relationships, centred on empathy and understanding, creating environments that allow children and young people the opportunity to flourish.
