Swizzler's journey began in 2014, when college friends followed a dream to launch a food truck serving grass-fed beef, spiral-cut hotdogs and hand-cut fries in Washington, D.C.
Our mission was to 'teach an old dog new tricks' and change the perception of the 'mystery meat' hotdog. We focused on sourcing 100% grass-fed beef, using only high-quality ingredients, and building a community of loyal fans.
In 2018 we realized that 'mystery meat' was so much bigger than hot dogs. We wanted to make a bigger impact. We wanted to change the whole fast food industry for the better.
We pivoted into the 'better fast food' space. We started slingin' regenerative grass-fed beef smash burgers and our famous hand-cut fries at local farmers markets and on our food trucks.
It was a hit! 2019 was our best year yet. We signed a lease for our first brick and mortar with an anticipated May 2020 opening. Yes, that 2020.
We slogged through 18 months, but survived. The DC community supported us through all of the ups and downs as we focused on putting out delicious, craveable fast food favorites made with top-notch ingredients at affordable prices.
Today, Swizzler Crispy Chicken + Smash Burgers has a flagship store along with a presence at some of the DMV's largest sports venues.
Swizzler has won awards for 'The Best French Fries in Washington, D.C.' along with many awards, nominations, + mentions for its burgers and chicken sandwiches.
