Smart Woman Securities ™ (SWS) is a non-profit organization focused on educating undergraduate women about finance and investing. The organization’s primary mission is to provide the guidance and resources young women need to be successful in the financial services industry. SWS is dedicated to educating its members in the classroom as well as providing interactive experiences outside the classroom that allow members to engage with successful professionals in the financial industry and expand their network. Participants build their financial knowledge through weekly seminars, one-on-one mentoring sessions, hands-on portfolio management, and networking events with successful bankers, accountants, and investors. In the past, associates have had the chance to meet the famed Warren Buffett at his headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska! SWS Fordham operates four main programs which include a Fall and Spring Seminar Series, Investment Project, Equity Research Team, and the annual Women In Leadership Conference (WILC).
