Simulation Science Center Clausthal / Göttingen (SWZ)

The Simulation Science Center Clausthal / Göttingen (SWZ) is a common interdisciplinary research facility in simulation science of Clausthal University of Technology and University of Göttingen. The two universities want to bring together and want to express their knowhow in the research are of simulation science. Due to the fast development of information technology, communication technology and computer science the understanding of phenomenons and processes in natural, engineer, economy and social sciences does not rely only on theoretical considerations and experiments, but in inceasing manner also on computer calculations. Therefore computer-based analysis technique traditionally play an important role in research at Clausthal University of Technology and University of Göttingen. The advancement and consolidation in the area of numerical and stochastic simulation are seen as essential requirements for any progress in the field of technology and engineering on both universities.
