SymbNET is led by Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (Portugal) and includes Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica NOVA (Portugal), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (Germany), Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (Germany), and Université de Lausanne (Switzerland).
The objective of SymbNET is to promote the development of research on host- microbe symbiosis, using genomics and metabolomics, and cooperation between the participating institutions. SymbNET includes the interchange of scientist between institutions, organization of workshops and scientific meetings, training of young scientists, and collaborative research projects.
