Synapse Physiotherapy was founded in 2010 by 3 physiotherapists after realising what the healthcare industry in Malaysia sorely needed. We realised that easy access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation services were few and far between, especially outside the Klang Valley.
Private hospital provided the service, but the direct access was cumbersome. Furthermore, insurance companies and healthcare management organisations did not cover physiotherapy and rehabilitation as a stand-alone service but rather required referrals from medical doctors at hospitals.
Consequently with the enactment of the Allied Healthcare Services Act (2016), physiotherapy is now a primary care service provider, and insurance companies and healthcare management organisations have signed private centres onto their panel, which is a huge step towards filling the gap we identified.
With a selected and dedicated team of qualified and registered physiotherapists, we began a journey to uphold and provide high-quality, evidence-based care and cost-effective treatment to patients.
At Synapse, we conduct comprehensive and well-integrated treatment programmes for numerous musculoskeletal injuries inter alia lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica; as well as sports injuries, orthopaedic and neurological disorders.
Over the years, Synapse has established strategic partnerships and alliances with various local and international sports teams, gymnasiums, fitness centres, corporations and medical centres alike. Our physiotherapists travel alongside international athletes for on-field physiotherapy cover, namely Penguin International Rugby Football Club from England.
As of 2023, we are a full-fledged team of 16 physiotherapists that operate out of 4 different branches (KL Sentral, Damansara Heights, Jalan Ampang and Cyberjaya) throughout the Klang Valley, with expansion plans nationwide.
Only then would we have fulfilled our mission and vision to be a leading physiotherapy provider in Malaysia.
