Synapse Distribution is one of the pioneers of independent distribution in Latin America. It started its operations in 1989, focusing on the distribution of Brazilian content to international markets. info@synapse.com.br
With the birth of the Latin American Pay TV segment in the early 1990s, the company quickly expanded its business model to encompass a broader mission: continue to export Brazilian films while importing high quality international content for distribution in the region.
Synapse Distribution has evolved with the media industry, being one of the first companies in the region to license content for OTT exploitation. Since its inception, it has licensed over 5,000 hours of content for theatrical, traditional, and new media.
Part of the Sofa Digital Group since 2018, Synapse Distribution releases an average of 50 films per year. Among the recent successes acquired and distributed are the 2021 Best International Feature Academy Award Winner, Another Round and nominee Quo Vadis, Aida?.
Besides the distribution of international features, Synapse Distribution also commercializes Brazilian movies produced for direct to VOD and starred by Brazilian YouTubers such as Luccas Neto, Lucas Rangel and Viih Tube that, together, have over 60 million followers on social media.
