Headquartered in Tempe, AZ and in the process of establishing a R&D/Engineering facility in Cambridge, MA, SynSonix is a privately held company founded in 2009. SynSonix was originally founded by Dr. William Tyler of Arizona State University and Dr. Sumon Pal of Harvard University. The foundation of SynSonix is its patented technology using pulsed ultrasound to noninvasively and remotely control brain function. SynSonix is focused on developing medical devices designed to noninvasively control brain function for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes for such diseases as epilepsy, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, depression, brain cancers, and obesity, as well as to address issues such as noninvasive brain mapping and long term wakefulness and alertness.
