National Union of Syrian Students, a youth organization representing students of the Syrian public and private universities and higher and technical institutes, has branches inside and outside Syria. The union was officially established on the 23rd of April 1963, based on the great student struggle heritage that was founded and led by the first student leader, the founding leader Hafez al-Assad. Since that date and until today, the Union has never been immune from the entitlements of student work in particular and the national in general. Through its internal branches in public and private universities and technical institutes, it was present in student life and its cultural, intellectual, informational, artistic, social and sports activities, all of which received great attention from the highest levels In the country and from the leadership of the Union and this is what has prepared for it continuous development and steady diversity, and even outside the country, the foreign branches of the Union have been and still reflect the civilized face of the country.
Strengthening the spirit of the student masses’ belonging to the homeland, loyalty to its leader, full contribution to strengthening national unity, effective presence in university life, achieving the slogan “linking the university to society” and defending the interests of students, and preparing them intellectually and militarily to face challenges in all their manifestations.
The Federation includes the following offices: the Office of External Relations, the Office of Foreign Branches, the Office of Studies and Student Issues, the Office of Culture, Media and Publishing, the Office of Informatics, the Office of Special Education, the Office of Sports Activity, the Office of Forums, the Office of Organization and Rehabilitation, the Office of Institutes, and the Office of Technical and Social Activity.
