T J Murphy Ltd is a family business which was incorporated in 1955 under the strong leadership of Mr Thomas Joseph Murphy and his wife Mrs Frances Murphy (nee Dunleavy).
After meeting at an Irish Dance Hall in Manchester, it transpired that both of them had left County Mayo and embarked upon a journey to Manchester to seek a new life with new opportunities.
T.J was a Roadworker and Frances was a Ward Sister, and together they grew and developed their Civil Engineering and Groundworking business, whilst raising 6 children and devoting much time to both the Church and the Irish Communities of North and South Manchester.
For the last 45 years, the eldest son Michael has been the Director of T J Murphy Ltd, and has continued to nurture and develop this family business. The focus remains on civil engineering and groundworking projects, many of which are delivered to businesses local to the Manchester and Bury area.
T J Murphy Ltd has earned the reputation of being a competent, hard working, reliable, and honest company with family values at the core of everything it does.
