Tacitus

Tacitus existed from 2004 to 2012, but its work is still being carried on by its twelve employees at various companies and initiatives. Tacitus employed game technology and 3D modeling to create fully-immersive data visualization software for viewing and interacting with complex genetic data. The team included game developers, 3D designers, PhDs in biology, as well as William Audeh, one of Cedars Sinai's lead breast cancer researchers, Rich Bonneau, a Forbes Magazine's "Top 40 Under 40" U.S. scientists, and Rebecca Heinemann, legendary game developer. Tacitus mission was to prove that 3D immersive game technology could be used in solving some of the world's most complex and important challenges, in systems biology, genetics, drug development, financial services, and other fields.
