TAGDev 2.0 Program | Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development 🌍🌱 The TAGDev 2.0 Program is a collaborative initiative involving the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), the Mastercard Foundation, the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and Life Sciences (GCHERA), and 12 African universities, including Egerton University (Kenya) and Gulu University (Uganda). TAGDev 2.0 is committed to equipping the most vulnerable young people with the skills and opportunities they need to transform their lives, communities, and the agricultural sector. Through this program, we are creating pathways for youth empowerment, economic growth, and sustainable development by focusing on inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient agricultural practices. We aim to address critical challenges in agriculture and food security, while uplifting marginalized groups, including young women, refugees, displaced persons, and people with disabilities. 📍 TAGDev 2.0 is a catalyst for agricultural transformation, expanding equal work opportunities, enhancing agricultural productivity, and ensuring climate-adaptive solutions in farming communities. With a strategic focus on skills development and entrepreneurship, the program is poised to impact 1.2 million people, including 840,000 young women, 300,000 refugees and displaced youth and 120,000 youth with disability.
