Take One Tech started out as a simple You Tube channel, created by Alec Johnson.
Alec was creating course material for a number of other business interest, but was driven to despair by the video editing process! An issue that was exacerbated by the onscreen talent he was working with (himself).
At some point Alec realised that if he liberated himself from the concept of editing and delivered the content 'off the cuff' just as if he was explaining to a friend or colleague, the results would surely be better. After all, if we are talking about a subject that we have deep knowledge of, there is rarely an issue, conversationally!
Since Tech is something that Alec has broad knowledge and experience of, the Take One Tech YouTube channel was created as a testbed to experiment with creating tech tutorials in one take.
The software used to enable this process (and Alec's new favourite software!) is Ecamm Live. This allows for the creation of live and recorded videos to be produced, complete with multiple scenes, transitions, graphical overlays, music and sound effects, all in one take with no post processing. Combined with the Stream Deck from Elgato, this can also all be done be done with the touch of a few buttons!
The channel quickly grew and expanded onto other platforms and into other areas of business, now offering one to one coaching and consultations, training courses, live selling as part of the Amazon Influencer program and also a number of digital download products.
