TAL Youth works in Northern Uganda to economically empower young people, especially women, to become resilient in the face of climate change. The organization has expanded its focus to include climate-resilient agriculture and skilling youth in handcrafts, further contributing to the empowerment and sustainability of local communities.
It was co-founded in 2020 by Ambrose Onapa, Sylvia Akurut and Acaye Opio when they were at Makerere University
They have also gained official NGO registration under Ugandan law, which protects their intellectual property.
The organization trains youth in various handcraft skills like bakery production, liquid soap making, paper bag making, and reusable sanitary making to promote independence and engagement.
