Sustainable Development Goals is about transforming our world by 2030, through sustainable development in economic, social and environmental areas, in a people centric, balanced and integrated manner.
The Tamil Nadu Government has constituted a High Power Committee with the Chief Secretary to Government as its Chairperson to implement and target the SDG’s 17 aspirational goals with 169 targets further elaborated through indicators focused on measurable outcomes.
8 thematic Working Groups have been formed, headed by the Secretary of the Nodal Department as the Chairman, to bring together the various departments who will be contributing in achieving the goals. The implementation is coordinated by the Planning & Development Department and State Planning Commission with the Department of Economics and Statistics being the Data Nodal for SDGs.
State specific indicators have been identified by the relevant departments who provide data for the indicators and detail out the schemes, targets and indicators.
Our goal is to highlight the efforts and initiatives taken by all government departments working together with the people of Tamil Nadu to achieve the 2030 targets.
