About Advanced Multiphysics Geomechanics Laboratory at Texas A&M University
The Advanced Multiphysics Geomechanics Laboratory (AMGL) at Texas A&M University, is dedicated to studying the behavior of soils and rocks under complex and extreme conditions, including mechanical, hydraulic, thermal, chemical, and biochemical processes. We investigate soil and rock behavior in the laboratory under controlled environmental conditions, simulating low and high confinements (up to 20 MPa), high gas and liquid pressures, and temperature variations (ranging from -20°C to +200°C). Additionally, we develop realistic constitutive and numerical models, which are applied to address engineering challenges that are critical to both industry and society. Our primary goal is to help overcome current and future geo-engineering challenges
