About Power Electronics & Power Quality Laboratory at Texas A and M University
The Power Electronics and Power Quality Lab focuses on State-of-the-art research in the realm of wide bandgap power converter systems to tackle some of the most intricate challenges in modern power management. Our expertise lies in the design and optimization of advanced power electronic converters, with particular emphasis on inverters, adjustable speed drives (ASDs), and active harmonic filters. These technologies play a crucial role in improving power quality, energy efficiency, and overall system reliability across various industrial and utility applications. We are also exploring innovative applications of Generative AI in power electronic systems, aiming to revolutionize how power converters are designed and managed. By integrating AI-driven approaches, we are unlocking new possibilities for intelligent control, real-time optimization, and predictive maintenance, driving the next generation of smart, adaptive industrial internet of things (IioT) and power systems. In addition to this, our research continues to expand into the critical area of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies and the cybersecurity of power networks, ensuring robust, secure interactions between electrical systems and digital infrastructures. Through our work, we aim to lead advancements in power electronics that contribute to a more efficient, resilient, and intelligent energy future.
