Founded in 2009, TANDEM, n.o. is a training and development organization based in Komárno, Slovakia. Our mission is to empower individuals, communities, and organizations by strengthening self-esteem and encouraging a sense of responsibility through conscious, creative, and people-centered approaches. The name TANDEM reflects our core values, expressed as an acronym in Hungarian: 🟢 T (Tudatos) – Conscious 🟢 A (Alternatív) – Alternative 🟢 N (Nemformális) – Non-formal 🟢 D (Dinamikus) – Dynamic 🟢 E (Emberközpontú) – Human-centered 🟢 M (Megerősítő) – Affirmative We work primarily with non-formal education methods to support sustainable personal and community development. Our operations are supported through a diversified funding model, including EU, national, and local grants, private foundations, and the 2% income tax donation scheme. We also generate revenue through our own services and training programs. This balanced financial structure allows us to remain independent and resilient. TANDEM is run by a dedicated team of four full-time staff members who manage the organization’s projects and administration with passion and professionalism.
