About Tanzania Partnership Program
The Tanzanian Partnership Program (TPP) is the first initiative of the Partnerships for Sustainable Community Development, a long-term collaborative alliance of local and international organizations dedicated to improving local livelihoods. The collaborative consists of Michigan State University faculty in partnership with faculty from the University of Dar es Salaam and Sokoine University of Agriculture. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to co-create a model of sustainable community development and build academic connections with Tanzanian academic institutions, scholars, and development practitioners. TPP initiated work in the two pilot villages of Naitolia and Milola in 2008, conducting integrated development activities and research studies in several sectors including education, water, economic development, agriculture and food security, human and animal health, and community empowerment.
