TAP London

TAP was born out of the universal feeling of helplessness when you see a person who is rough sleeping. Homelessness is a fundamental problem in most UK cities. Services are underfunded, yet paradoxically, there are vast quantities of people spending money on ‘one-off’ acts of generosity - buying food, or giving change to beggars - often worsening the problem. Individually, these donations do little to help in a meaningful way. But, if we channel these acts of generosity effectively, there is an opportunity to create sustainable change TAP galvanises communities to tackle homelessness and poverty, together. TAP has piloted a vendor programme; employing homeless Londoners to work as fundraisers for their communities, with all collections made through contactless. Through this programme and other events, TAP has raised thousands of pounds for local charities tackling homelessness. This year we have secured a contract with the Greater London Authority, and will be rolling out contactless donation points across the city, enabling Londoners to give a little and make a huge difference in their community.
