TARA Child Protection & Empowerment India

TARA has been protecting and empowering vulnerable children in South Delhi for 16 years. We are currently supporting over 700 children and families, providing them with safety, education, and well-being. Our key areas: 🔹 Family-Based Programs With years of experience, we strengthen at-risk families to prevent child abuse and exploitation. In 2019, we launched the TARA Outreach Centre (TOC) in Saidulajab, helping over 200 children and families access education, healthcare, and gender equality. In December 2024, we expanded to Sanjay Colony, another high-risk area. Through TARA Family Intervention (TFI), we work closely with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to reintegrate children into safe family environments whenever possible, prioritising their well-being and best interests. 🔹 Residential Care When family care is not an option, TARA provides a safe, nurturing home for children in extreme need. These children are taken into our care by court order. Our three homes in New Delhi provide quality education, medical and psychological support and personal care for 60 children : 🏠 TARA Tots - 20 boys & girls (ages 2 to 10) 🏠TARA Girls - 20 girls (ages 9 to 18) 🏠TARA Boys - 20 boys (aged 9 to 18) At the age of 18, they are offered the opportunity to move on to TARA Big Birds, our independent living programme, which equips them with the skills they need for adulthood. 🔹 Capacity Building At the TARA Training Centre (TTC), we ensure the highest quality of care by training and certifying child protection professionals both within TARA and across India. By sharing best practices, we work towards a stronger, more sustainable child protection system. With unwavering commitment, we continue to protect, educate and empower vulnerable children.
