Taranga Science Club

Taranga is a vibrant organization formed by brilliant and socially conscious youth from BUET, Dhaka University, Dhaka Medical College, and other institutions. Our joy lies in working selflessly—not for fame or profit. We focus on fostering reading habits, critical thinking, creativity, and scientific mindsets, particularly among schoolchildren. Our vision is for students to acquire not only skills but also humanity, cultivating the ability to think critically and logically. We aim to inspire them to turn humanistic ideals into reality and bring great literary figures to life within themselves. Our journey began modestly in 2016 with a regional science festival at DK High School, supported by the local community. By 2018, we had organized a third festival, involving 700 students from 27 schools. The enthusiasm among participants was immense, and generous donor contributions allowed us to advance significantly. We envision continued exponential growth in all our initiatives. Despite challenges, we have expanded our efforts, with support from an advisory board of esteemed professors, researchers, and government officials. With 70% of Bangladesh's population in rural areas, we focus on combating ignorance and empowering these communities. Illuminating rural areas with knowledge and positivity is a central goal. We believe true change begins at the grassroots. Our Activities 1. Hosting annual regional science festivals and Olympiads. 2. Publishing magazines and providing platforms for student creativity. 3. Recognizing top-performing students to encourage excellence. 4. Offering educational support programs. 5. Participating in community service.
