About Taree Indigenous Development and Enterprise
Taree Indigenous Development & Enterprise Ltd (TIDE) is an Aboriginal-controlled, community-based non-profit organisation and registered charity, established in 2008. Operating primarily on Biripi, Biripai and Worimi Country, TIDE serves communities across the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, including Taree, Forster/Tuncurry, Gloucester, Wauchope, and Port Macquarie, with outreach extending from Ballina to Newcastle. TIDE is dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through culturally grounded programs that promote employment, education, cultural restoration, and community wellbeing. Our initiatives include the Working on Country Aboriginal Rangers Program, the Guula (Koala) Country Program, the Indigenous Community Support Service, the Parent and Community Engagement Program, and the Driver Licensing Access Program. With a commitment to Aboriginal employment, TIDE maintains an internal strategy ensuring at least 40% Aboriginal staff representation, currently achieving 80% . Guided by a board of local Aboriginal community members, TIDE continues to foster self-determination and cultural integrity in all its endeavors.
