Tarus Shanghai was a supplier of automotive design and model build services, operating from 2006 to 2018 when it was acquired by the parent company of Sino Engineering Shanghai. Founded by renowned model builder, Mr Norio Kikuchi, Tarus Shanghai were at the forefront of bringing design and model build expertise to the China automotive market.
Serving a range of clients such as Suziki, Ford, VW, Hong Qi, PSA, Mistibushi and many more, Tarus provided fully operational show cars to many high profile auto shows across Asia. The involvement in large numbers of projects required Tarus to hire and train a great many local Chinese staff across a range of disciplines, contributing greatly to the development of the automotive eco-system in Shanghai and beyond.
Tarus merged with Sino in December 2023 to become Kadence, a fully integrated supplier of automotive design, engineering and model build services to a variety of OEMs. Mr Kikuchi has retired to his native Japan where he spends time crafting wooden furniture, content that his legacy in China is safe and secure.
