TEAM Since the start of the lockdown, our team on ground has researched, verified, and personally distributed food materials and offered other charity services to various areas across Sonarpur, Mograhat, Anandpur, Lake Gardens and Park Circus across Kolkata ASSIST While the lockdown was in place there were many people who rose to the opportunity to help individuals in need. Reaching medicines to elderly people living alone in Kolkata , provisions to those in need, feeding animals under a project called Wagamuffins Foundation, T.A.S.K. team members were on the roads every day of the lockdown reaching unavailable medicines, provisions, groceries, household requirements , basically anything which anyone needed to survive the lockdown period and were unavailable to get it done , Team TASK was on the job to help them out under the umbrella of many social service organizations SUPPORT The aftermath of Amphan left the kolkata and surrounding areas destroyed. While kolkata started getting immediate support from social service organizations we started getting desperate calls of support from outskirts , especially from a few villages in HIngalganj. Despite no network, limited mobility and lack of manpower support we made a plan on a friday night and set of on Sunday Morning . Sundarbans was always in a perilous conditions and Amphan ensured entire villages lay inundated under salt water rendering their farm lands and pond water unfit for any use. We have taken up the social services aspect of the Sundarbans project as a long term vision to ensure another occurrence of a cyclone does not lead to such destruction. KNOWLEDGE While kolkata has revived to a certain extent , the after effects of the extended lockdown and theron the loss of job opportunities in the city will ensure that people from villages who have lost their farmlands, their homes and ponds to the salt water intrusion will be left with nothing.
