TATVA School

TATVA was started by Balasubramanian (Bala), IIT M-‘94 & IIM A-’98, and Vidyalakshmi (Vidya), MNNIT -‘98, IIM A-’01. Bala has been in the business of education since 1999 while Vidya entered it in 2006 after 5 years of experience in business consulting. They trained thousands of students every year for national level competitive exams such as the CAT and even the IIT JEE with considerable success across the years. The coaching business gave Bala and Vidya deep insights into the state of education in India. A good education system, Bala and Vidya realised, cannot be created on the assumptions and approaches of the existing system. It was necessary to set up their own school committed to excellence in education, and which would become the inspiration for a radical overhaul of education. Thus was TATVA born. TATVA started its journey in 2009 as a Pre-School located in Velachery. Today, it operates out of 2 premises in Velachery and one in Medavakkam. TATVA is set to upgrade itself into a full-fledged K12 school once its campus off OMR, (5 km from Navalur, 7 km from Medavakkam and 15 km from Velachery) is up and running. The grade school currently operates out of the Medavakkam premises and accommodates children from Grades 1 to 3. TATVA’s mission is to become an institution of excellence and the leader of a positive transformation in education. TATVA seeks to bring the human back into education and make learning a joyful experience that transforms every child into a happy, purposeful adult with the values, skills, attitudes and knowledge required for success in his endeavours. TATVA's environment makes education a joyful pursuit that engages each child in the most appropriate way given his stage of physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development.
