The concept of “Tawazon” is of an online media outlet established by a group of Afghan diaspora journalists and human rights activists in exile. This robust media would have meticulous coverage of pressing news and stories in Pashto, Dari, and English languages. These exiled journalists and activists work voluntarily for Tawazon, focusing on maintaining balanced reporting on the otherwise neglected yet crucial tales from Afghanistan worth telling. This is going to be spearheaded by a fine team of dedicated professionals, which includes prominent journalists and managers formerly employed by Afghan media outlets before the fall of Republic. The Tawazon team of journalists works not only from exile but also from within Afghan provinces at a very grassroot level to bring out authentic voices with 70% of its focus on human rights situation striving for a balanced and standardized approach, and ensures international reach. Broadly speaking, Tawazon’s mission is to deliver timely, credible, balanced, and trusted information to its audience at home and abroad right from the core and grass roots. It upholds freedom of expression, press freedom, and democracy, committing to independent, stable, ethical, and people-oriented journalism, thus fulfilling its responsibility for the betterment of Afghanistan and its people. Eventually, the goal is to nurture, promote, and garnish democratic values, rights, and liberties in Afghanistan through credible grassroots journalism and pave the way for a fair and stable society.
