TAWICO Picha: Tanzania Wildlife Conservation Photo Project

The Tanzania Wildlife Conservation (TAWICO) Photo Project: Documenting sustainable conservation efforts in rural and protected areas for people and wildlife TAWICO Picha will be implemented in the Ruaha ecosystem located in South-Central Tanzania. Our mission involves documenting and storytelling, capacity building, reconnecting people with nature, and increasing awareness for issues of poaching and hunting for bushmeat, wildlife conservation, and natural resource management. The project aims to achieve four main objectives: -Documenting and storytelling -Capacity building among different stakeholders -Reconnecting people with nature -Building community awareness around wildlife conservation within the ecosystem We will capture emotionally compelling, visceral imagery of sustainable conservation efforts in Tanzania, train stakeholders in the art of photography and storytelling, and help reconnect the world with the wonders of nature while building awareness of the critical work being done in the field. We will also deploy fellow US military combat photographers into the field in leadership and training positions. Ultimately, we aim to shine the light on human/animal conflict and cooperation to promote a symbiotic relationship for the benefit of the greater good. Consider this our invitation to you!
