The Timor-Leste Australia Youth Dialogue (“TAYD”) is a second track dialogue and premier initiative that aims to foster open discussion and cultural exchange between Timor-Leste and Australia. It is established as an independent and non-partisan diplomatic initiative, to promote sustained and meaningful dialogue. As the first youth dialogue that brings together eminent and emerging youth leaders in Timor-Leste and Australia, our purpose is to promote a more sophisticated cross-cultural understanding between both nations. Our activities serve as the central information source for Australia and Timor-Leste related opportunities, events and activities, and provides an engaging means of educating readers about Australian and Timorese history and culture. Our main aims are to: ● Provide a platform for frank discussion regarding Australia and Timor-Leste’s relationship; ● Establish a forum for discussion on cooperation on regional and global affairs; ● Enhance people-to-people links through free exchanges of ideas on a range of topics that matter; ● Encourage informal conversation about incorporating government officials and leaders; ● Include a range of participants from different areas of expertise, including industry, media, academia, community organisations and youth representations; and ● Discuss potential areas for collaboration between Timor-Leste and Australia in business, culture, education, science and technology. ● Developing foundational donors to commit to a 3-year annual donation. ● Represent priority diversity in all forms; gender, sector, location and voice. The group welcomes anyone aged 18-35 and intends to represent and be as diverse as possible. Main activities include: (a) Annual conference alternating years in Timor-Leste and Australia (b) Making connections for exchange, internships, short-term opportunities in both countries and providing recommendations (c) Establishing a future leaders Committee for developing
