Tennant Creek High School

Tennant Creek High School is in the heart of the Barkly region along Stuart Highway providing education for students from year 7 to 12 and beyond. Our aim is to offer world-class education to all students and the community of diverse backgrounds. The focus of the school continues to be on attendance, student engagement, literacy, and numeracy; a range of programs are offered that underpin these and encourage students to explore opportunities for the future. In middle school, we offer the core subjects, English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and Physical Education, complemented by a range of electives such as Ceramics, Arts, Food Tech, and STEAM. In senior school, we offer core subjects, Stage 1&2 English, Mathematics, Scientific Studies, Sports & Recreation, Psychology, Robotics, Coding, Community Studies, and a selection of Certificate I - IV courses with the Juno Centre. TCHS works closely with the Juno Centre to offer a comprehensive and holistic education to provide all students with the opportunities to achieve their personal best – direct employment, employment through a school-based apprenticeship program as well as tertiary education pathways to further education and training through the TAFE or University.
