Although, the knowledge and professional base of Tea Direct goes back as far as 1987, Tea Direct in a formal sense was established only in the year 2006. Tea Direct was registered with the Government of Nepal on June 2006 under the Industrial Act of Government of Nepal. In a Tea sense Tea Direct was established in response to the need to make available Nepal Tea to the outside World. As against the background reality of Nepal Tea Industry lacking a professional Tea Sourcing House, Tea Direct : the concept of providing Nepal Tea in its purest form was initiated by Twistina Subba. Inspired by her Birth Place in North East India (Home for Assam Tea) and her second home in Ilam of Nepal (Home for Nepal Tea), Tea was a natural choice for Twisitna; an Engineer by Academic background married to a reputed Tea Professional of Nepal.
