Teachers Building Society was founded in 1966 to help teachers on to the property ladder at a time when many found it hard to get a mortgage. We still specialise in lending to teachers, but we’ve now widened our mortgage service to those working across a variety of professions.
Just as we did in the 60s, we take an individual view of borrowers, with experienced underwriters reviewing each application on a case by basis. Our complex lending solutions and bespoke approach mean we can overcome obstacles that can make getting a mortgage difficult, including age, unusual income sources and atypical properties.
As well as residential mortgages for professionals on more standard homes and finance for those with more challenging circumstances we also help those looking to buy an additional property, including buy to let and holiday let homes.
