Team Sammpaati is a student-founded aerospace startup and innovation lab working toward building India’s first scalable eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft designed for urban air mobility, last-mile aerial logistics, and future air taxi networks. Started at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Sammpaati is more than just a student team, it’s a movement to prove that real-world deep-tech innovation can begin from the ground up: from a college campus, a bunch of notebooks, and a relentless dream to fly. We are a cross-disciplinary team of 40+ student engineers and designers with dedicated departments working in: Aerodynamics, CFD, and Aircraft Design Propulsion (Hybrid Powertrain, Hydrogen, Battery Systems) Flight Control & Simulation CAD, Structures, and Systems Integration Mission Planning, Navigation, and Avionics We aim to: ✅ Build a fully functional subscale tech demonstrator ✅ File patents and publish research in aerospace tech ✅ Compete globally in design challenges ✅ Evolve from student team to deep-tech startup incubated in India’s innovation ecosystem At our core, we believe in a simple idea: India’s aerospace revolution won’t be imported — it’ll be built.
