There are multiple layers to applying stucco. The first layer is the cement bear / polar bear which is used to water-proof the wall. Polar bear is used only on plywood walls whereas cement bear is used on all other wall types. After that, a layer of styrofoam is added to provide insulation. Next we add fibre mesh which is embedded in the base coat. The base coat consists of 100% acrylic emulsion that is field-mixed with Portland Cement. This provides strength and protection to the wall. Once this is all complete, we would install the mouldings based on the clients preferences. Lastly, the stucco is applied in whatever colour the client desires.
