Today, in the US, about 57% of college degrees are awarded to women. But only 2% of the degrees are in computer science and tech disciplines. Women’s representation in technology is crucial for reducing gender-based bias in technology products and services and for supporting women’s economic empowerment. Financial barrier is one of the biggest obstacles for starting tech education. The purpose of the group is to support tech and STEM education among economically disadvantaged youth.
