Formed in 1999, the Autonomous Robotics Laboratory is an Institute-funded research and development centre managed for the Mechanical Engineering Faculty by the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.
Headed by Professor Elon Rimon, the ARL is the result of the development of the Robotics Excellence Program which was designed to give students a real hands-on experience in the field of modern autonomous robotics where Students work with advanced programs such as ROS and MoveIt in order to simulate and then manipulate real robots in the lab. The program was designed to integrate 4th-year students doing their final undergraduate project with younger students who show exceptional capabilities in the field of robotics. Additionally, Israeli students will work alongside International students.
