Digitizing Social Change; One Bit at a Time! Tech Tribes helps nonprofits and cause-driven groups architect low-cost and replicable interactive tech solutions that can help them solve community issues and enhance public participation. In the absence of alternative, more participatory, credible and transparent channels of communication, Tech Tribes looks at ways through which technology and digital media helps foster enhanced participation in governance and decision making. Our targeted assistance demonstrates how active citizens, community groups, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) can effectively combine the use of technology tools with non-digital and more conventional activities and strategies. “The projects supported and brought together by Tech Tribes are not only about technology; they are about addressing common challenges to civic participation and democratization in the Arab World in a more participatory, inclusive, and effective ways.” What is our mission? The overall objective of our work is to contribute to the creation of an enabling environment for youth-led organizations and youth groups to meaningfully engage in issue-based advocacy and decision-making and policy-setting and planning in their countries and contexts. “we support proactive, focused, inclusive, and gender and disability-sensitive youth groups/networks/organizations in the Arab World to lead a systematic and structured mobilization around priority goals and challenges.” Our beneficiaries: The main beneficiaries of the programs Tech Tribes implements are independent youth organizations, social activists, and cause-driven groups. The approach places particular emphasis on reaching out to and including the new, less resourceful, rural and marginalized with others currently active at the national level.
